Terms of Service

All chocolates sold by Chocobania are handmade to order in small batches in Dublin, Ireland. Because they are freshly made, product appearance may vary slightly from photographs on the website — this is a natural feature of artisan production, not a defect.

We take great care with ingredients and allergens. All products may contain or have been produced in an environment that handles milk, nuts, gluten, soy, and eggs. Full ingredient and allergen information is listed on each product page. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before ordering.

Browsing our website and adding items to your cart does not constitute a binding contract. A contract is formed when:

1. You complete checkout and your payment is successfully processed by Stripe, and
2. You receive an order confirmation email from us.

We reserve the right to cancel any order prior to dispatch — for example if an item becomes unavailable or if we suspect fraudulent activity. In such cases you will receive a full refund.

All prices are displayed in euros (€) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If a pricing error affects your order, we will contact you before processing.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. We accept major credit and debit cards. We never store your card details — all payment data is handled directly by Stripe and is protected by their PCI-DSS Level 1 certification.

We currently ship within Ireland only. Shipping availability and costs are shown at checkout based on your delivery address.

Free shipping may be available for qualifying orders — the applicable threshold is displayed at checkout. If free shipping is not shown at checkout, standard shipping rates apply.

Local collection may be available in the Malahide area, County Dublin, when shown as an option at checkout. Collection is by prior arrangement only. Once your order is ready, we will confirm the collection details and instructions by email. Please do not travel to collect your order until you have received this confirmation.

Delivery times are estimated and not guaranteed. Because our chocolates are perishable food items, we use tracked delivery services to minimise transit time.

Chocolate is sensitive to heat. We take reasonable precautions with packaging, but we cannot be held responsible for melting or damage caused by extreme temperatures during transit or after delivery if the package is left unattended.

If your order has not arrived within the estimated delivery window, please contact us at ania@chocobania.eu and we will investigate with the carrier.

Under the Irish Consumer Rights Act 2022, your statutory rights as a consumer are protected. In particular:

• Perishable food items (including all our chocolates) are exempt from the standard 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases, as they may deteriorate or expire rapidly.
• If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or significantly different from what was described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the issue.
• Custom-built orders (our “Build Your Own” bar) cannot be returned unless they are faulty, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Approved refunds are processed within 7 business days to your original payment method.

It is your responsibility to check the ingredient and allergen information on each product page before ordering. While we take every precaution, our products are made in a kitchen that handles common allergens. Chocobania cannot accept liability for allergic reactions where allergen information was clearly provided and the order was placed with that knowledge.

All content on this website — including photographs, text, branding, and product designs — is owned by Chocobania. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without prior written permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, Chocobania's liability for any claim arising out of or related to a purchase shall not exceed the total value paid for the relevant order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under Irish consumer law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. For consumer disputes, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We may update this document from time to time. Before any change takes effect, we will notify you by email of our intention to make the change at least 30 days in advance. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
